NOTE:
To get a better indication of a problem’s location, test both ATM-EI circuit
packs on the associated fiber link, whether the circuit packs are both
ATM-EI circuit packs or not.
NPE Cross Talk Test (#6) (TN2238 only)
This test is non-destructive. The NPE Cross Talk test verifies that the selected
TDM bus time slot never crosses over to time slots reserved for other
connections. The test also checks for cross connections, where the board
talks/listens to time slots other than those specified. Since this test uses many
system resources (TDM time slots, tone generator, tone detector, and others), it
runs as a part of a demand test only.
This test fails if either the TDM programmable logic and/or the interface to the
DSP is not operating properly. Failure of these components may result in one-way
or noisy connections. Refer to Figure 9-3
for a schematic of this test.
