ANR8233W (Windows NT)
Unable to create thread to handle NETBIOS session session number on adapter
network adapter number.
Explanation: The server cannot start a new client session on the indicated adapter
due to an inability to start a separate thread of execution for the indicated session.
System Action: Server operation continues, but this session request fails.
User Response: The most likely cause is a lack of memory. Ensure that there is
sufficient space for the Windows NT paging file. Click on the system icon in the
Windows NT control panel and then click on the virtual memory button. Refer to
the online help for instructions on how to increase the amount of virtual memory.
You may also wish to cut down on the maximum number of sessions that the server
can accept with the MAXSESSIONS or the NETBIOSSESSIONS option, or both, in
the server options file.
ANR8234W (AIX)
Error loading modname for NetBIOS communications method.
Explanation: The server cannot load file module modname to initialize the
NETBIOS communications driver. The dsmnetb1.drv module is for use with IBM
AIX NETBIOS on Token-Ring/6000. The dsmnetb2.drv module is for use with the
newer IBM NETBIOS for AIX.
System Action: Server operation continues. NetBIOS communications is
inoperative.
User Response: The dsmnetb1.drv and dsmnetb2.drv modules are accessed as part
of the load process for NetBIOS communications. Both should be in the same
directory as the dsmserv executable or in a directory that is pointed to by the
DSMSERV_DIR environment variable. The dsmnetb2.drv module will fail to load
unless the STREAMS environment is active. The STREAMS environment is
activated with the /usr/sbin/strload command. The server attempts to initialize the
IBM AIX NETBIOS on Token-Ring/6000 environment first. If /dev/netbios does not
open, the server attempts to initialize the IBM NETBIOS for AIX environment.
Consequently, if you have IBM AIX NETBIOS on Token-Ring/6000, but do not
have it available for use, you will receive this message naming dsmnetb2.drv as the
module that failed to load.
