config 802.1x auth_mode
Parameters
[port_based | mac_based] The Switch allows users to authenticate
802.1x by either port or MAC address.
Restrictions Only administrator-level users can issue this command.
Example usage:
To configure 802.1x authentication by MAC address:
DES-3028P:4#config 802.1x auth_mode mac_based
Command: config 802.1x auth_mode mac_based
Success.

config 802.1x capability ports
Purpose Used to configure the 802.1x capability of a range of ports on the
Switch.
Syntax
config 802.1x capability ports [<portlist> | all] [authenticator |
none]
Description The config 802.1x command has two capabilities that can be set for
each port, authenticator and none.
Parameters
<portlist> Specifies a port or range of ports to be configured.
all Specifies all of the ports on the Switch.
authenticator A user must pass the authentication process to gain
access to the network.
none The port is not controlled by the 802.1x functions.
Restrictions Only administrator-level users can issue this command.
Example usage:
To configure 802.1x capability on ports 1-10:
DES-3028P:4#config 802.1x capability ports 1–10 authenticator
Command: config 802.1x capability ports 1–10 authenticator
Success.

Used to configure the 802.1x Authentication parameters on a range
of ports. The default parameter will return all ports in the specified
range to their default 802.1x settings.
