3. If the adapter port is connected to the fabric through a point-to-point
connection (F_Port) and is connected to a switch, make sure the Connection
Options setting is 1 - Point-to-Point Only. See “Adapter Parameters” in the
help system for information about viewing and modifying the setting.
4. Prepare for normal operations (see “Preparing for Normal Adapter
Operations” on page 6-4).
Installing a Loopback Connector
Before running the loopback test, you must install a loopback connector on the
adapter port. Note the following about the loopback connector:
The loopback connector must be appropriate for the type of FC adapter
connector.
Be sure to select the appropriate adapter connector for testing. Each
adapter connector appears in the SANsurfer FC HBA Manager main window
FC/CNA HBA tree as an adapter port.
To install a loopback connector:
1. Disconnect the cable from the appropriate adapter connector.
2. Install the loopback connector on the adapter connector.
Preparing for Normal Adapter Operations
When you complete loopback testing, follow these steps to resume normal
adapter operations.
