Chapter 5 Installing Optional Products
The following optional products can be installed in the ETERNUS DX Disk storage system:
• Disk
• Drive enclosure
• Controller
• Expander
This chapter explains the installation rules, handling instructions, and installation procedures for
these optional products.
Disks and drive enclosures can be added by yourself.
However, be sure to read "Safety Precautions" before performing any of these installation
procedures.
5.1 Installing Disks
Optional disks can be installed while the ETERNUS DX Disk storage system is running without
affecting the system.
This section explains how to install optional disks.
CAUTION
Do Not
• Do not uninstall or move a disk that is already installed.
Contact your sales representative or maintenance engineer if disks
that are installed by default need to be uninstalled or moved to
another slot.
