When the player is off, press the button shortly to
switch it on. ^
When the player is on, press and hold the button for
more than 2 seconds to switch it off. ^
When the player is off, press the button to open the
[MENU] view. ¡
Pressing the button when the display backlight is
dimmed or extinguished turns the backlight on.

0 Multi-control (Up/Down) button &£
Press the multi-control (Up/Down) button deeply makes
it possible to scroll the display or increase the fast for-
ward/fast reverse speed.
! Triangle LED
The LED blinks at about 5-second intervals while the
display is extinguished. It blinks twice when the HOLD
switch is set to HOLD.

$ HOLD switch
Slide the switch in the direction of HOLD so that
the player will not change the current operating
condition even when a button is pressed by mis-
take, for example when the player is carried in
power off status or used in a train.
