In case of difficulty
Resetting the Microcomputer
The microcomputer may malfunction (unit cannot be operated, or shows an erroneous display) if the power cord is unplugged while the power is
ON, or due to some other external factor. If this happens, please try either procedure below.
Soft reset:
This reset procedure allows the setups made by the user to be held
without being reset.
(For U.S.A and Canada)
Press
POWER ON/STANDBY
key to turn this unit OFF (STANDBY),
and then press
POWER ON/STANDBY
key again to turn it ON.
÷ If a memory card is inserted, remove the memory card after pressing
POWER ON/STANDBY
key to turn this unit OFF (STANDBY). After
removal, press
POWER ON/STANDBY
key again to turn it on.
(For Europe and Australia)
Press
ON/STANDBY
key to turn this unit OFF (STANDBY), and
then press
ON/STANDBY
key again to turn it ON.
÷ If a memory card is inserted, remove the memory card after pressing
ON/STANDBY
key to turn this unit OFF (STANDBY). After removal,
press
ON/STANDBY
key again to turn it on.
Reset to the factory default setups:
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, then plug it
back in while holding down the POWER ON/STANDBY
(For U.S.A and Canada) or ON/STANDBY key (For
Europe and Australia).
÷ Please note that resetting the microcomputer will clear the con-
tents of the memory and returns the unit to the state it was in when
it left the factory.
÷ Check if the OS is supported. y
÷ The PC server does not recognize the VRS-N8100.
÷ Set the firewall to OFF.
÷ The network may be congested. Stop other devices connected to the same network and retry.
÷ If wireless connection is in use, the transfer rate may be dropped due to interference from other
devices. Stop equipment that generates radio waves such as a microwave oven and retry.
÷ Check the setup of the KENWOOD PC SERVER application. i
÷ Press SAVE of the KENWOOD PC SERVER and reload it. i
÷ The audio format used by the file may be incompatible with this unit. Try a video data (movie file)
recorded using an audio format that is compatible with this unit. 4
÷ The video format of the video output from this unit does not match that of the TV. Check the
"Video Out" setting.
÷ The resolution of the image is higher than the maximum resolution of this unit or the file size is
larger than the maximum file size. 4
÷ Check that the file has an extension of .JPG or .JPEG.
÷ Check that the filename is composed only of alphanumeric characters (A to Z, 0 to 9, _).
÷ Ths display resolution setting is low. Increase the display resolution.
The KENWOOD PC SERVER application
cannot be installed in the PC or the
installed application will not run.
The VRS-N8100 is not found in [My
Computer] of the PC server.
This unit cannot be used inside a firewall.
Playback interrupted or stopped while
there is no problem in the network
connection.
The MOVIE, MUSIC or PHOTO files are
not displayed.
Audio is not output when a video data
(movie file) is played back.
The TV image is displayed in black and
white.
The image of a JPEG file cannot be
displayed.
The JPEG files in a memory card are not
displayed.
Some buttons are not displayed by the
KENWOOD PC SERVER application.
