Video dubbing hookup illustration
Video dubbing is the process of recording new video on a tape in place if existing video. It erases the
former video and it also erases the audio recorded on the VHS Hi-Fi track. It does not affect the audio
formerly recorded on the linear track. When Video Dubbing, the source for the Video Dub is "whatever
you are seeing".
1. Connect the video camera/recorder to the VCR or connect the video generating device to the video
input jack of the VCR.
2. Press the AVX button on the remote control to select L2 (Line 2).
3. Press DISPLAY button to display the counter reading in the VCR's display.
4. Play a recorded cassette. Search for the approximate position of the tape on which you want to dub a
picture.
Be sure that the record safety tab is not missing.
5. Press CLEAR at the point where video dubbing ends.
• The VCR display is "0:00:00". The tape continues to play.
6. Turn the SHUTTLE ring counterclockwise to rewind the tape
• Rewind the tape to a point somewhere before the video dubbing start position. Then center the
SHUTTLE ring.
7. Use the SHUTTLE ring to find the exact start of video dubbing, then release the SHUTTLE ring.
8. Press VIDEO DUB button.
9. Press PAUSE button to begin video dubbing. The VCR will stop automatically at counter reading
"0:00:00".
EASY EDIT BY USING OPTIONAL SYNCHRO EDIT CABLE
Synchro edit makes tape copying easy by connecting two compatible VCR's with an optional synchro edit
cable.
When two VCR's are connected with a synchro edit cable, the playback VCR will automatically stop and
start the recording VCR.

To synchro edit the VCR's
1. Turn on the VCR's and TV.
2. Insert the cassette that you want to copy in the playback VCR. Locate the place on the tape you want
to begin coying and put the VCR in the play-pause mode.
3. Insert a cassette with the record-protect (safety) tab intact in the recording VCR. Put the recording VCR
in the record-pause mode.
