whatthosenumbersmean whenchoosingareceiveror
amplifierforyourPolk loudspeakers.Thelowernumber
indicatesthelowestcontinuous ratedpowerthatwillyield
acceptableperformanceina typicallisteningenvironment.
Thehighernumberindicates thehighestperchannelpower
thatshouldbeused withyourPolkspeakers.That number
shouldnotbeconfused witha“PowerHandling”specifica-
tionanditdoes notimplythatthespeaker willsafelyhandle
thatfullamountof poweronalong-termbasis. We specify
a
widerangeofpower ratingsbecausenotallelectronics
manufacturersusethesame methodforratingpower.In
fact,highqualitylower-ratedamplifierssoundbetter and
playlouderthanlow qualityunitswithhigherpower rating.
