Your DVD player has built-in virtual surround circuitry that provides rich
audio output when playing through a stereo (2-channel) television or through
audio equipment.
Dolby Virtual lets you play audio from DVDs recorded using Dolby Digital
(5.1 channel) and Dolby Surround (Pro Logic).
See the disc jacket for information about how its audio was recorded.
Dolby Virtual
The following table shows the types of audio recordings for which Dolby Virtual
is enabled.
Dolby Virtual is disabled when the DVD player is connected to external
equipment over an optical digital connection.
See page 79 for information about how to make this setting using the DVD player’s GUI.
To turn Dolby Virtual on and off
1 While the DVD is playing, press VIRTUAL.
Each press of VIRTUAL toggles Dolby
Virtual on and off.
Dolby Virtual cannot be used with a video CD or audio CD.
Dolby Virtual is disabled during playback of a DVD recorded with DTS audio,
linear PCM audio and Audio MPEG Version 2.0.
