Checking for Resource Conflicts
Many of the problems that occur during installation are the result of resource
conflicts between the drive, the controller, and the other devices in your
system.
Complete the System Configuration Worksheet to identify then correct
resource conflicts. (See Figure 5-1)

Configuration Worksheet
1. Run the Compaq System Configuration Utility and select
Step 4
.
2. Record the switch settings for all option boards on the configuration
worksheet.
3. Remove the appropriate covers or panels to obtain access to your option
boards; record the actual switch settings of each option board on the
configuration worksheet.
4. Compare the settings recorded on the worksheet. If there are any
differences, set the board switches as recommended by the Compaq System
Configuration Utility.
