Retensioning a Cartridge
IMPORTANT:
Use your software application to retension a cartridge.
Retensioning a cartridge consists of a complete wind/rewind operation.
The user should retension a cartridge in the following situations:
■ Prior to writing to a cartridge
■ After a read error has been detected. In this situation, use the following
procedure:
❏ Clean the drive.
❏ Retension the cartridge.
❏ Repeat the read operation.
❏ If the read error is repeated, then the user should consider this to be
a hard error. This may indicate that there is a problem with the
cartridge: replace the cartridge and return to the beginning of this
procedure.
