USER INTERFACE
The LPE-200 operating controls are located on
the radio's front, top and left panels. A 6-button (scan
model) or 15-button (system model) keypad, Liquid
Crystal Display (LCD), microphone and speaker are
on the front panel. The top panel houses a rotary
SYSTEM/GROUP/ CHANNEL knob, POWER ON-
OFF/VOLUME control knob and an EMERGENCY
button. An OPTION button, CLEAR/MONITOR
button and the Push-To-Talk (PTT) button are all
located on the left side panel. The Universal Device
Connector (UDC) is located on the right panel and is
used while programming the radio and for accessory
connection. A battery release button is located on the
back adjacent to the PPT button.
The display has three, twelve character
alphanumeric lines used to show the operational
mode of the radio. A back light illuminates the
display and the keypad for nighttime use. An LED is
located on the front top edge of the radio. Red
indicates transmit.
