WMA is short for Windows Media Audio and
refers to an audio compression technology
that is developed by Microsoft Corporation.
WMA data can be encoded by using Windows
Media Player version 7 or later.

Resetting the microprocessor
The microprocessor must be reset under the
following conditions:
! Prior to using this unit for the first time
after installation
! If the unit fails to operate properly
! When strange or incorrect messages ap-
pear on the display
% Press RESET with a pen tip or other
pointed instrument.

Protecting your unit from
theft
The front panel can be detached from the
head unit and stored in the protective case
provided to discourage theft.
! If the front panel is not detached from the
head unit within five seconds of turning off
the ignition, a warning tone will sound.
! You can turn off the warning tone. See
Switching the warning tone on page 50.
Important
! Never use force orgrip the display and the
buttons too tightlywhen removing or attach-
ing.
! Avoid subjecting thefront panel to excessive
shocks.
! Keep the front panelout of direct sunlight and
high temperatures.
! A few seconds after turning the ignition
switch to on oroff, the front panelautomati-
cally moves. When thishappens, your fingers
may become jammed in the panel,so keep
your hands away fromit.
! When removing thefront panel, be sure to
hold the corrugatedrelease button on the rear
of the front panel whilepulling.
