7 – Managing songs and MP3s

Rename MP3
Previously only the currently-loaded MP3 file could
be renamed. Now it is possible to rename any MP3
file currently on the card.
1 Press the
MENU key, choose the CARD
menu, move to
MP3 NAME and press
ENTER.
2 Press
ENTER to select the MP3 file to be
renamed.
3 Use the wheel and cursor pad to name the
song, and press
ENTER when you’re done.
MP3 properties
You can now display the bit-rate, file size and run-
ning time of MP3 files stored on the Pocketstudio 5
card.
1 Press the
MENU key, choose the CARD
menu, move to
MP3 PROPERTY and
press
ENTER.
2 Use the cursor pad to move down to the
appropriate MP3 file, and then press the
right cursor pad:
3 Press
EXIT to return to the list.
NOTE
If an MP3 file has been encoded with an invalid sam-
pling frequency (for example 48 kHz or 32 kHz), an
appropriate message is shown here.
Song Protect
This function allows you to lock a song, protecting it
from any further changes (recording, editing, etc.).
Protected songs cannot be saved to card, etc. after
they have been protected. If another song is loaded
after a song has been protected, the original protected
song remains protected, and will still be protected
when it is reloaded from card.
Note that you can only protect and unprotect the cur-
rently-loaded song, while you are not recording or
playing back the song.
1 Press the
MENU key, choose the CARD
menu, move to
SONG EDIT and press
ENTER.
2 Move to
SONG PROTECT and press
ENTER:
3 To protect the song, use the wheel to change
Off to On, or to unprotect the song, change
On to Off. Press ENTER.
4 The Pocketstudio 5 then asks if you are sure
you want to write the protection status to the
card (
Save Current ?). Press ENTER
again.
