7 – Managing songs and MP3s
Song edit
The capabilities within the song editing functions
have been expanded, allowing for faster and more
flexible editing.
Stereo pair and all tracks
Within the song editing functions, in addition to the
individual four tracks (
Trk1 through Trk4), you
can now select pairs of tracks (
Trk1+2 or 3+4)
or all tracks (
TrkAll). This provides you with
more flexibility when editing songs.
Copy/paste
Copying and pasting is now possible between tracks.
For example, if you have recorded two vocal parts,
and you want to use the chorus line of one, but the
verse of another, you can mark the start and end
points of the source, and copy to the destination
track, overwriting the original.
1 Press the
MENU key, choose the CARD
menu, move to
SONG EDIT and press
ENTER.
2 Move to
EDIT COPY and press ENTER.
3 Use the cursor pad and wheel to select the
source track (
Src). You can select any of the
individual four tracks (
Trk1 through
Trk4), pairs of tracks (Trk1+2 or
Trk3+4) or all tracks (All).
4 Select the destination track (
Dst). Your
choices are the same as for the source track.
5 Select the destination point (
To) of the por-
tion you want to copy.
NOTE
Remember that the
Start
and
End
points are the
IN and OUT points. You cannot select different points.
6 Select the number of times (Time) that you
want to copy the selected portion to the desti-
nation.
7 Press
ENTER to make the copy. The display
shows
Complete when the copy is
finished.
Last recording point Another feature added in
this release of the software is the ability to use the
last recording point (that is, the point at which
recording last started), as a destination for copy and
paste operations. This is shown as
LRP when you
select the
To: destination point.
Track erase
It is now possible to erase the whole of a track, a pair
of tracks, or all tracks together.
1 Press the
MENU key, choose the CARD
menu, move to
SONG EDIT and press
ENTER.
2 Move to
EDIT SILENCE and press
ENTER.
3 Select the track or tracks to be erased
(
Trk1 through Trk4, Trk1+2 or
Trk3+4, or All).
4 Previously, the IN and OUT points deter-
mined where the silence was to replace the
track. This is still an option, but if you move
the cursor to the
Start or End fields, and
turn the wheel, you can pick
All as the
selection to be replaced by silence:
5 Press
ENTER to erase the track(s).
