To delete abnormal data from a “Memory Stick” or built-in flash memory
If “CANNOT PLAY,” “EXPIRED,” “FILE ERROR,” “STICK ERROR,” or “MG ERROR” is displayed,
there is a problem with all or part of the data stored in the “Memory Stick” or the built-in flash memory.
Follow the procedures below to erase data you cannot play.
1 Connect your Network Walkman to the computer, and start the SonicStage software.
2 If you have already specified the data with problems (such as expired songs), erase the data using the
SonicStage software.
3 If the problem persists, click the button on the SonicStage software to transfer all data
without problems while your Network Walkman is connected to the computer.
4 Disconnect your Network Walkman from the computer and then format “Memory Stick” or the built-in
flash memory using the FORMAT menu (page 44).
Note
If a “Memory Stick” is formatted, data recorded using other devices will be also erased. Be sure to verify the data stored in
the “Memory Stick” prior to formatting, when “Memory Stick” contains data recorded using other devices.
For details, refer to the online Help for the SonicStage software.
