16. REMOTE1 jack
Plug a wired remote (not
supplied) in this jack.

2.5 mm jack
the RemoteMode setting:
RemoteMode:
StartPause
From Rec or Playback Pause, switch remote
on to start recording. During record or play-
back, switch remote off to pause and on to
resume. If Auto Mark is On, an EDL mark is
added when recording resumes.
StrtStp TR
Start or stop recording. When re-started, a
new track is begun.
EDL Mark
During record or playback, switch remote to
on to add an EDL mark.
PWR REC
During POWER off, switch remote to on to
turn power on and begin recording.
During recording, switch remote to off to stop
recording and power off.
Manual TRK
During recording, switch remote to on to
increment the track. A new track is created at
that point. There is no break in recording.
See page 44 for instructions on how to set or
change the Remote Mode.
17. REMOTE2 jack
The REMOTE2 jack is for the
optional RC600 remote.
The RC600 is designed for
microphone interviews. It attaches to
your microphone.
The remote's four foot cord with a four contact
mini plug, plugs into the PMD671 while you carry
the PMD671 via its carry strap.
The RC600 does not require any menu changes
for use. The RC600 includes:
a An indicator light:
(green) lit and steady
during standby or stop
(red) lit and steady while
recording
(flashing red) during rec
pause
(orange) flashes for 1/2 second when an
over peak level signal is input during record-
ing or rec pause, then it goes back to red
(green flash) for 2 seconds when an EDL
mark is added during recording
b press to pause recording
c press to start/resume recording and to
manually increment tracks
d press to add an EDL mark while recording
18. LINE IN/OUT
