Basic Operations (Tape Navigation)

1. Load a cassette recorded by this VCR. The VCR turns on automatically and the
MENU button indicator on the VCR flashes. (It flashes to show that the tape data is
being scanned).
 You cannot display the data of a cassette recorded by another VCR model or by a
VCR other than this VCR. Be sure to use a cassette recorded by this VCR.
2. Turn the TV on and select the video channel (3 or 4).
3. Make sure that the green MENU button indicator on the VCR lights. (It lights to show
that Tape Navigation is operational).
4. Press the MENU button on the remote control or VCR. The directory will appear. The
directory interpretation is listed on the next page.
 This VCR can store about 80 programs including blanks in memory.
 There may be a difference of within about three minutes between the displayed
recording time and the actual time.
 The recording data may not appear even with a tape recorded by this VCR. In this
case, perform the following:
A, Rewind the tape to the beginning and press the MENU button.
B, Rewind or fast forward the tape to the section which was recorded by this VCR, then
press MENU.
Interpreting the Directory
Tape No.:
Shows the tape control number
No. of Programs:
Shows the number of recorded programs on the tape
Tape Bar:
Shows the length of a recorded program and its location on tape.
Recording Time:
Shows the actual recording time. If the tape speed is changed during recording, the
recording time in the EP speed mode will be displayed.
Recording date/Recording start time/Recorded channel:
If the broadcast program does not have a program title signal, these will be displayed.
 If the clock has not been set, " - / - " " - - : - - " will be displayed.
 If you use a cable box to receive programs, the VCR's output channel is always
displayed whichever channel is recorded.
