Problem
Created music CDs are
noisy (noise is mixed into
the played sound).
Playback starts from where
you stopped. (Resume
function)
During playback of a disc
containing music files, the
disc does not rotate, but
you can hear your music
normally.
When you close the cover
of the drive, the disc starts
to rotate.
A problem occurs when the
computer starts, or the
writing software does not
operate properly.
Writing software other than
the supplied program has
been installed, but does not
work.
Although the drive operated
normally in the past,
operation became unstable
at some point.
No sound is output from the
drive headphones when
playing music CDs or files.
Cause/Solution
t Refer to the FAQ or troubleshooting sections of the writing
software manual to change the writing software settings.
t Some computers generate more noise than others, so using
a different computer may allow creating noise-free music
CDs.
t The resume function is active. To start playback from the
first track, turn the control knob in the N/> direction until
playback starts, or open the cover of the drive.
t The drive is designed to stop the rotation of discs during
playback to reduce power consumption. This is not a
malfunction.
t The drive is reading the information on the disc. This is not
a malfunction.
t If the writing software provided with the drive is installed on
a computer with packet writing-based writing software
already installed, the writing software may not operate
correctly. The other packet writing software should be
uninstalled beforehand. Note that packet writing software
comes preinstalled on some computers, so check your
system to see if it is present.
t Some writing software or versions of writing software may
be incompatible with the drive. For details, contact the
manufacturer or reseller of the writing software. Sometimes
you can solve the problem by upgrading or downloading a
later version of the software.
t If operation becomes unstable after a particular program is
installed, uninstall that program. If this resolves the
problem, refrain from using or reinstalling that program.
t When you connect the drive to your computer, you cannot
listen to music with through the headphone jack of the drive.
