Formatting the Card (FORMAT)

Press and hold the MENU button
for 1 second or longer.
The menu opens (☞ P.53).

Press the FF or REW button until
“FORMAT” flashes on the display.

Press the PLAY button.
The formatting process is selected.

Press the FF or REW button to
choose “START”.

Press the PLAY button.
“DATA WILL BE CLEARED” appears for
approximately 2 seconds.

Press the FF or REW button again
to choose “START”.
Formatting prepares cards for recording. Cards that have been used on non-Olympus devices,
or that can’t be accessed by this unit, require formatting. The card that comes with this unit and
Olympus xD-Picture Cards are preformatted and can be used immediately following purchase.
