Toggle Positioning
See Figure 45. The toggle shou ld be posit ioned so that it pro vides even pressure on t he media.
Position the toggle by sliding it to the desired location.

Printhead Pressure Adjustment
This adjustment may be necessary if printing is too light on one side or if thick media is used.
Refer to Figure 45.
1. Perform the toggle positioning procedure. If the problem is solved, you may stop here;
otherwise, continue wi th the rest of this procedure.
2. Print some labels at speed A by running the PAUSE Key Self Test (see page 87).
3. While printing labels, lower the darkness setting until you see a gray level of printing.
4. Loosen the knurled (upper) locki ng nuts at the top of the toggl e assembl y/a ssembl ies.
5. Increase or decrease spring pressure using the knurled (lower) adjusting nuts on the shafts
of the toggle until the left and right edges of the printed area are equally dark.
6. Increase darkness setting to the optimum level for the media being used.
7. Re-tighten lo cking nuts.

Note • Printhead life can be maximized by usin g the lowest pressure that produces the
desired print quality.
