Installing the Disk Shelf into the Rack Slide Rails
You will need a No. 2 Phillipshead screwdriver that isa minimum of 4-inchesin length.
A mechanical lift is highly recommended for theJ4500 and Sun DiskShelf because either shelf
can weigh between 91 to 170 pounds (42-77kg).At least three people are required, two to install
the shelf and one spotter to engage therails. If a mechanical liftis not available, removethe
power supplies, SIM boards and hard disk drivesto reduce the weight,see Disk Shelf

Starting atthe bottomof the cabinet,locatethe appropriaterack unit(RU) height.TheJ4400,
J4500and SunDiskShelf requirefourstandardmounting units(4RU) of vertical spacein the
cabinet.
Ifyouare installinga J4500,you willneed torst attachthe J4500mounting brackets.
