Follow the procedure below to initialize a
“Memory Stick” (LF-X1) or a CompactFlash
card (LF-X5) using the LocationFreeTV.
Notes
• If you initialize a “Memory Stick”/CompactFlash
Card with the LocationFreeTV, all data recorded on
the “Memory Stick”/CompactFlash Card will be
deleted, including data recorded by other devices.
• Do not initialize a “Memory Stick”/CompactFlash
Card unless it is necessary.

Open the [Settings] window, and select
[Basic].
The [Basic] window appears.

Select [Initialize].
The [Initialize] window appears.

For the LF-X1, select [Init. Memory Stick].
For the LF-X5, select [Init. CompactFlash].
Note
Never remove the “Memory Stick” or
CompactFlash card during initialization.
The [Init. Memory Stick] or [Init.
CompactFlash] window appears.

Select [Initialize], then select [OK].
Note
Be sure to read the precautions shown on the
screen.
A confirmation message appears.

Select [OK].

When the message “Initialization finished”
appears, select [OK].
Note
If you initialize a “Memory Stick”/CompactFlash card
with other equipment, such as a computer, you may not
be able to use it on the LocationFreeTV. If this is the
case, transfer all data in the “Memory Stick”/
CompactFlash card to the other equipment, and then
initialize the “Memory Stick” (LF-X1) or
CompactFlash card (LF-X5) with the LocationFreeTV.
