Network Privacy
The PMP supports both WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) and WPA
PSK (Wireless Protected Access Pre Shared Key) network privacy
methods.
• WEP: 64-bit and 128-bit keys are supported.
• WPA: A password comprised of from 8 to 63 characters may
be used.
Con guring Wireless Access
To con gure wireless access on the PMP, simply try to connect to
a wireless network. If the PMP detects it does not have the proper
con guration it will prompt you to enter an appropriate network key
as required by the network. For example, if you try to connect to a
network enabled for WPA, the player will prompt you to enter a WPA
network key (i.e., password). The network con guration information
will be saved on the PMP for future use.
Advanced Wireless Con guration
You will need to manually con gure a wireless network if any of the
following applies:
• Your WAP is con gured with broadcast SSID disabled. In this
case, you need to manually enter the SSID and indicate that it
is non-broadcast.
• Your wireless network is con gured to use static IP
addressing. In this case you need to manually enter an IP
address and mask for your PMP.
Use the ‘Con gure Networks’ option in the Wireless application to
access the advanced wireless con guration. From this menu, you are
able to add a new network and edit existing networks.
