Network Privacy
The PMP supports both WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) and WPA
PSK (Wireless Protected Access Pre Shared Key) network privacy
methods.
WEP: 64-bit and 128-bit keys are supported.
WPA: A password comprised of from 8 to 63 characters may
be used.
Con guring Wireless Access
To con gure wireless access on the PMP, simply try to connect to
a wireless network. If the PMP detects it does not have the proper
con guration it will prompt you to enter an appropriate network key
as required by the network. For example, if you try to connect to a
network enabled for WPA, the player will prompt you to enter a WPA
network key (i.e., password). The network con guration information
will be saved on the PMP for future use.
Advanced Wireless Con guration
You will need to manually con gure a wireless network if any of the
following applies:
Your WAP is con gured with broadcast SSID disabled. In this
case, you need to manually enter the SSID and indicate that it
is non-broadcast.
Your wireless network is con gured to use static IP
addressing. In this case you need to manually enter an IP
address and mask for your PMP.
Use the ‘Con gure Networks’ option in the Wireless application to
access the advanced wireless con guration. From this menu, you are
able to add a new network and edit existing networks.
