Check the following guide for the possible cause of a problem before
contacting service.
The player does not turn on. The buttons do not work.
• Battery is not loaded or the battery is exhausted.
→ Load battery or replace the battery. (page 12)
• The player is locked by the HOLD switch.
→ Return the HOLD switch back to its normal position. (page 44)
• The
button was not pressed in for more than 1 second.
→ To turn the power on, press it in for more than 1 second.
• The player is connected to a computer.

Playback does not start.
• There is no playable audio data in the internal memory or the SD
memory card.

• The supplied headphones are not connected firmly.
→ Connect the supplied headphones firmly. (page 31)
• The volume is set to the minimum.
→ Adjust the volume. (page 32)
Cannot exchange audio data.
• The inserted SD memory card is write protected.
→ Set the write protect tab back to its unprotected position. (page 18)
• The connection to a computer is not proper.
→ Check the connection. (page 16)
Unusual operation or display.
→ Remove the interface cable and the battery, and wait for more than
30 seconds to load the battery. (Reset operation)
