Line Input Jack
You may listen to the sound from an iPod, MP3 player, CD player or other external music source by connecting the external
device to the Line In jack on the back of this clock radio. Use an audio cable (not included) with 3.5mm mini plugs to connect
the headphone jack of the external device to the Line In jack of this unit. An AUX indicator will appear on the display when a
cable is connected to the Line In jack of this radio. Begin playback on the external device and adjust the VOLUME control of
this clock radio.
Note: You must remove the audio cable from the Line In jack of this clock radio in order to listen to AM or FM. When the
audio cable is disconnected the AUX indicator turns ‘Off’ in the display.
When the back-up battery voltage drops below a certain level the Low Battery indicator ( )
begins flashing in the display. When you see this indicator you should replace the battery as soon
as it is convenient for you to do so.
To replace the battery, proceed as follows:
IMPORTANT: Leave the radio connected to the AC outlet when replacing the battery to
avoid losing all of your time and alarm settings.
1. Purchase a replacement 3V lithium battery. The battery type is CR2450. This type battery is
available almost everywhere that batteries are sold.
2. Remove the battery from the packaging so it is ready to install.
3. Place that radio face down on a towel or similar soft surface to avoid scratching the front lens.
4. Use a small Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw that secures the battery holder and slide
the battery holder out of the cabinet.
5. Remove the original battery from the battery holder and insert the new battery into the holder in the same way, with the
“+” side facing up. Slide the battery holder with the new battery back into the cabinet and secure the holder with the small
screw.
6. Turn the radio right side up and confirm that the Low Battery indicator ( ) is ‘Off’.
CAUTION: Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced.
Replace only with the same or equivalent type.
PRÉCAUTION: Danger d’explosion si les piles sont remplacées de façon incorrect.
Remplacer les piles seulemnet par le même type de pile ou l’équivalent.
Resetting The Clock After a Total Memory Loss
If you experience a power failure with an exhausted back-up battery in the radio, all of the time and alarm settings may be
lost. In this case the clock will reset itself to its initial default settings when power is restored. If you notice that the time on the
display is incorrect, press the MONTH/DATE button to check the calendar setting. If the Month and Date are also incorrect
you probably experienced a total memory loss.
To reset the clock after a total memory loss, proceed as follows:
1. Follow the instructions on page 12 and install a fresh CR2450 lithium back-up battery.
2. Connect the radio to the AC outlet and wait until the time is displayed.
3. Press and hold the MONTH/DATE and TIME buttons together for 3 seconds. The year will appear briefly followed by
a flashing “0”. Use the SimpleSet keypad to enter the correct year and then press the ENTER button. The clock will beep
twice to confirm the setting.
