Getting Started
Connecting to an amplifier with speaker
jacks
Connect the speaker system to the amplifier, then
connect the front speakers to this speaker system.
What cords will I need?
Speaker cord (1 for each speaker) (not supplied)
Strip the ends of the cord about 2/3 inch (15 mm) and twist
the exposed wire.
Be sure to match the speaker cord to the appropriate jack on
the components: + to + and – to –. If the cords are reversed,
the sound will be distorted and will lack bass.
Usually the speaker cord marked with a line is used for
positive (+) and should be connected to the positive (+) jack
to avoid any improper connections.
Hookups
1 Connect the speaker system to the amplifier.
Connect the HIGH LEVEL terminal of the speaker
system to the amplifier’s speaker output jacks
with the speaker cords. Be sure to connect both L
and R channels.

Note
When the power of the amplifier is turned off, turn down the

Otherwise, a popping noise may be heard.
What is Dolby Pro Logic Surround?
Dolby Pro Logic Surround is a system that decodes the extra
channels on movie videos and TV programmes, and
produces sound effects and echoes that make the action
seem to envelop you. The sound image is improved by using
four separate channels: off-screen audio effects, on-screen
dialogue, left to right panning, and music. These channels
manipulate the sound and enhance the action as it happens
on the screen.
The unit offers PROLOGIC mode for these systems as one of
the sound fields. You can tell if a video tape or laser disc
uses Dolby Pro Logic Surround encoded software by looking
at the packaging. (Some video tapes and laser discs may use
Dolby Pro Logic Surround even if it’s not indicated on the
package.)
Connecting the mains lead
Connect the mains lead of the speaker system and your
amplifier to a mains outlet.
