Tips, FAQ, and Troubleshooting
This chapter provides answers to common questions you may have.
Question: Why do I get a screen with a lock on it when I try turning on my Sansa
e200R Rhapsody?
Answer: The Hold switch is locked. The device is shipped this way to prevent
accidental operation. Look along the top of your device and slide the Hold switch so
that there is no orange color visible.
Question: What does “Device Not Authorized” mean? How do I authorize my Sansa
e200R Rhapsody?
Answer: Device authorization allows your device to communicate with Rhapsody and
accept Rhapsody content. Your device should be registered the first time you connect
your Sansa e200R Rhapsody, but if that doesn’t work there are three ways you can
start the process.
Drag and Drop:
1. Connect your device to your computer while Rhapsody is running. Make sure you
are signed in to your Rhapsody account. The portable device name will appear in
the Sources area.
2. Drag a track from the Music Guide onto the device name in the Sources area.
3. A dialog opens that will prompt you to launch Manage My Account. Click OK.
4. Enter your Rhapsody password when prompted to do so. The "Account Summary"
dialog will open.
5. Click Authorizations on the left side of the "Account Summary" dialog.
6. Click the Authorize link.
7. Click OK.
