Troubleshooting
Can’t record
Recording is not possible if the SD card is not inserted correctly. Turn off the power, and
re-insert the SD card.
p. 32
If the SD card has not been formatted, it will not be recognized, and the display will
indicate “SD Unformatted.” Please format the SD card.
p. 34
The SD card will not work properly unless it was formatted on the R-05. If the card was
formatted using a computer, it might have the wrong format. In this case, it might stop
immediately after recording is started, or recording might not occur correctly.
p. 34
Recording is not possible if the SD card is write-protected (LOCK). Turn off write
protection.
p. 36
Recording will not occur correctly if the recording level specified by INPUT [+] [–] is too
low. Set the recording level appropriately.
p. 44
Recording with a monaural
mic creates a stereo file
The R-05 records in stereo. If you connect a monaural mic, a stereo file with the same
sound on left and right (L, R) tracks will be created even if EXT Mic Type is set to
“MONO.”
p. 53
Volume of the device
connected to the LINE IN
jack is too low
Could you be using a connection cable that contains a built-in resistor? Please use a
connection cable that does not contain a resistor.
p. 55
File was divided
unexpectedly
The R-05 will automatically divide the file if the file currently being recorded exceeds a
specified size, or if the recording level falls below a specified level. Set the Split Type
setting to specify the file size or recording level at which the file is to be automatically
divided.
