CHARGE NI-MH BATTERIES BY CONNECTING TO
THE COMPUTER
1. Plug one port of the supplied USB cable into the USB jack of the unit,
plug the other port into the USB jack of the PC. displays in the LCD.
2. Turn off the unit and press

. The battery symbol is flowing and
the charging starts.
3. When the battery is charged,
stops flowing and displays in
the LCD. If you want to stop charging, press

once.
NOTE: When charging, you can use the radio normally.
SETTING UP THE AM TUNING RATE AND CLOCK
SYSTEM
The E4 can be set up for a 9KHz or 10KHz MW (AM) tuning rate or a 12-
hour or 24- hour clock system. It has been set up at the factory for use in
North America (U.S. or Canada) with 10KHz tuning rate and 12-hour clock
system; no changes to the initial factory settings are needed if you’re in
North America.
To change these settings, use the instructions below.
To Change the Tuning Rate and Clock System
1. With the radio turned off remove one battery and disconnect the
AC adapter. Wait 60 seconds until the display goes completely
blank.
2. Reinstall the battery or connect the AC adapter. ‘SET’ appears in
the display for about 10 seconds. While it’s in the display press
the ‘ENTER’ button. 9 10 appears in the display. Press 1 to select
9KHz, 2 to select 10KHz.
3. 12 24 appears in the display. Press 1 to select 12 hour system, 2
to select 24 hour system.
