¥ If a player is moved from a cool place to a warm and damp place
or a place facing a direct cool wind from air-conditioner... and
others, temperature varies sharply, which makes dew on head
drums of player.
If dew condensation occurs,
1 Do not use the unit with a tape inserted since damage may occur
to the tape or the playback head.
2 Leave the unit powered in the ÒOnÓ state for one or two hours so
that it can dry itself out.
BASIC INFORMATION ABOUT VCP AND VIDEOTAPE
WHAT IS DEW CONDENSATION SYMPTOM?
¥ In case of an old or contaminated videotape, the screen display
may not be clear due to contamination of the VCP heads. Please
remove the contaminants using a commercially available VCP
head cleaner, as outlined below:
1 Insert a head-cleaner into VCP.
2 Press [PLAY] for 5 seconds, and then press [FF] for about 10
seconds.
3 Eject the head-cleaner tape from the VCP.
¥ If the screen is not clean yet, please repeat the above 2 or 3
times more.
¥ In extreme cases, the player may need to be returned for
servicing at the users expense.
