Recording is done on the side facing the cassette holder.
Use type I (normal) tapes.

Insert a cassette.

The side to be recorded on
Set the FUNCTION switch to RADIO.
For CSD-ES770,
make sure that the ~ light of the OPE/BATT/DIR
indicator is on. If it is not on, press the DIR button to turn it on.
Set the BAND switch to select a band.
Turn the TUNING control to tune in to a station.
Press the
REC button to start recording.
The PLAY button is depressed automatically.
The REVERSE MODE button is also depressed (CSD-ES770
only).
Basic operation
Press the following buttons.
To stop

To pause

Press again to resume recording.
After recording
Set the FUNCTION switch to POWER @ STANDBY/TAPE.
If a high-pitched sound is heard during recording from AM

Press the FM MODE/OSC button to select the position that gives the
less noise.
Each time you press the button, the display changes as illustrated.

Set the FUNCTION sw;ch to POWER 6 STANDBY/TAPE.
Insert a ‘cassette with the side to be erased facing the cassette
holder.
Press the
REC button to start erasing.
