Playing MP3/WMA/WAV
These are the basic steps necessary to play an
MP3/WMA/WAV with your built-in CD player.
More advanced MP3/WMA/WAVoperation is
explained starting on the next page.
1 Folder number indicator
Shows the number of folder currently play-
ing.
2 MP3indicator
Shows when an MP3 file is playing.
3 WMAindicator
Shows when a WMA file is playing.
4 Playtime indicator
Shows the elapsed playing time of the cur-
rent track (file).
5 Track number indicator
Shows the track (file) currently playing.
! If a track number 100 to 199 is selected,
d on the left of the track number indica-
tor will light.
! If a tracknumber 200 or more is selected,
d on the left of the track number indica-
tor will blink.
1 Insert a CD-ROM into the CD loading
slot.
Playback will automatically start.
# After a CD-ROM hasbeen inserted, press
SOURCE to selectthe built-in CD player.
# You caneject a CD-ROM by pressingEJECT.
2 Use VOLUME to adjust the sound level.
Rotate it to increase or decrease the volume.
3 Press a or b to select a folder.
# You cannotselect a folder thatdoes not have
an MP3/WMA/WAV file recorded init.
# Toreturn to folder 01(ROOT), press and hold
BAND. However, if folder 01(ROOT) contains no
files, playback commences with folder02.
4 To perform fast forward or reverse,
press and hold c or d.
# If you select ROUGH, pressing andholding c
or d enablesyou to search every 10 tracksin the
current folder. (Refer toSelecting the search meth-
od on page20.)
5 To skip back or forward to another
track, press c or d.
Pressing d skips to the start of the next track.
Pressing c once skips to the start of the cur-
rent track. Pressing again will skip to the pre-
vious track.
Notes
! When playing discswith MP3/WMA/WAV files
and audio data(CD-DA) such as CD-EXTRA
and MIXED-MODE CDs,both types can be
played only byswitching mode betweenMP3/
WMA/WAVand CD-DA with BAND.
! If you have switchedbetween playback of
MP3/WMA/WAV files andaudio data (CD-DA),
playback starts atthe first track onthe disc.
! The built-in CDplayer can play backan MP3/
WMA/WAV file recordedon CD-ROM. (Refer
to page 30for files thatcan be played back.)
! Do not insertanything other than aCD into
the CD loadingslot.
! There is sometimesa delay between starting
up CD playbackand the sound beingissued.
When being read,FRMTREAD is displayed.
! If you cannot inserta disc completely orif
after you insert a discthe disc does not play,
check that thelabel side of the discis up.
Press EJECT to ejectthe disc, and checkthe
disc for damagebefore inserting it again.
