DB-25 Auxiliary Port Cabling and Pinouts
Table 3-15 lists the DB-25 auxiliary port signals for the C7200-I/O, C7200-I/O-FE, and
C7200-I/O-FE-MII I/O controllers. The auxiliary port supports hardware flow control and modem
control.
Note When connecting to an auxiliary port on a Cisco 7200 VXR router, the port will not function at baud
rates higher than 19.2k. If the baud rate on the connecting device is set higher than 19.2k, either garbled
text or nothing will be displayed on the screen.
RJ-45 Port Cabling and Pinouts
For the NPE-G2, NPE-G1, and the C7200-I/O-GE+E and C7200-I/O-2FE/E I/O controllers, both the
console and auxiliary ports use rollover or straight-through cables with RJ-45 connectors. Adapters are
available for connection to modems and other external communications equipment. (See
Table 3-16.)
