Error Message List
The gigabeat may display the following error messages. When an error message is displayed,
take appropriate action by referring to the instructions below.
Message
UNSUPPORTED DATA
UNABLE TO READ DISK
NO DATA FOUND
DATA ERROR
FAILED TO OPEN
RECHARGE BATTERY
NO SYSTEM FOUND ON
HDD
Content and Corrective Action
The format of the selected data cannot be played on the
gigabeat. Use the gigabeat room to transfer the data. (Refer to
“Transferring Tracks to the gigabeat” in the Owner’s Manual-
“gigabeat room”.)
Reformat the built-in hard disk to the FAT32 format. Use the
gigabeat format. (Refer to “Troubleshooting” in the Owner’s
Manual-“gigabeat room”.)
Transfer data to the gigabeat. (Refer to “Transferring Tracks to
the gigabeat” in the Owner’s Manual-“gigabeat room”.)
The selected data is damaged. Use the gigabeat room to
transfer the data again. (Refer to “Transferring Tracks to the
gigabeat” in the Owner’s Manual-“gigabeat room”.)
The track could not be opened and played.
Use TOSHIBA Audio Application to transfer the data again.
(Refer to “Transferring Tracks to the gigabeat” in the Owner’s
Manual-“gigabeat room”.)
There is insufficient power remaining in the built-in battery.
Connect the AC adapter and charge the battery. ( p. 30)
The gigabeat cannot be started because the firmware on the
hard disk has been destroyed.
Please restore the firmware. (Refer to “Troubleshooting” in the
Owner’s Manual-“gigabeat room”.)
