When you use batteries, your radio requires four AA
batteries for operation. It also uses two AAA batteries for
clock and memory station backup. For the best performance
and longest life, we recommend RadioShack alkaline
batteries.

To power the radio from an AC outlet or your vehicle’s
battery power, you need an AC adapter and a size M
Adaptaplug
(neither supplied, available at your local
RadioShack store or online at RadioShack.com).
.
..
.
1. Set the adapter’s voltage switch to
6V
.
2. Attach the Adaptaplug to the adapter, with the tip set to
negative (–).
3. Insert the barrel plug into
the radio’s
DC 6V
jack. This
disconnects the internal
batteries.
4. Plug the other end of the
adapter into the power
source.

Using Internal Battery Power
Always use fresh batteries of
the required size and
recommended type.
Dispose of old batteries
promptly and properly. Do not
burn or bury them.

Using AC Power
You must use (Class
2 for AC) power
source that supplies
at least 6V DC and
delivers at least 300 mA. Its
center tip must be set to
negative and its plug must fit
the radio’s DC 6V jack. The
recommended adapter meets
these specifications. Using an
adapter that does not meet
these specifications could
damage the radio or the
adapter.
Always connect the adapter to
the radio before you plug it into
the power source . Always
unplug the adapter from the
power source before you
unplug it from the radio.
