between the player and your amplifier/receiver correctly according
to “Basic connections” on page 2.
Even if your audio system is for a normal stereo reproduction,
including a stereo amplifier/receiver and two speakers, you can
enjoy the pseudo-surround sound with 3D Phonic mode.

button. Pressing this button cycles the modes as shown below.
NORMAL
(Pro Logic)

button lights.
Select the mode depending on your system configuration.
NORMAL (Pro Logic):
Select this mode when the center speaker cannot reproduce the
bass better than the front speakers. The bass portions of the
center channel signals are output through the front speakers.
WIDE (Pro Logic):
Select this mode when the center speaker can reproduce the
bass better than the front speakers. All signals of the center
channel are output through the center speaker.
PHANTOM (Pro Logic):
Select this mode when you do not use a center speaker. The
center speaker channel signals are output through the front
speakers.
3 STEREO:
Select this mode when a center speaker is connected without
rear speakers.
3D Phonic:
Select this mode when reproducing the surround sound with
only two front speakers. It gives you very realistic surround
effect as if the sound is reproduced through the Dolby Sur-
round decoder.
This mode is the result of research on sound localization
technology carried out at JVC for many years and make it
possible to reproduce the surround sound with only two front
speakers.
