WEATHER BAND AND HAZARD ALERT OPERATION
Instant Weather Band Reception
The National Weather Service (NWS) currently operates 940 transmitters around
the country to provide continuous 24-hour weather reports for all 50 states and
surrounding coastal waters. These broadcasts are transmitted on seven different
channels with the following frequencies:
Channel # Frequency
1. 162.400 MHz
2. 162.425 MHz
3. 162.450 MHz
4. 162.475 MHz
5. 162.500 MHz
6. 162.525 MHz
7. 162.550 MHz
Your Emerson All-Alert Clock Radio receives all 7 of these frequencies clearly,
and thanks to the sensitive digital tuner there is no cumbersome ‘fine-tuning’
required.
You must select the weather channel that provides coverage for your geographic
area. This set-up is only done once and then your radio will automatically tune to
the correct frequency whenever you press the WEATHER/HAZARD button.
