To turn off the Dowel Jointer, move 3.
the Power Switch (74) all the way
backward. (See Figure E.)

To Mark The Workpiece:
Before starting with the Dowel Jointer, 1.
the workpieces must be marked as
follows:
Place the two workpieces on top of a.
each other.
Secure the workpieces, using a vise b.
or clamps (neither included).
Mark the center of the grooves.c.
To Position the Dowel Jointer for Large
Workpieces:
Place the Dowel Jointer near the 1.
workpieces.
The middle of the Motor Base (16), 2.
which is marked on the Guide Plate
(8), must face the center of the
groove in the workpiece.
Move the Motor Base (16) backward.3.
Hold the Dowel Jointer with both 4.
hands, and turn the tool on.
Push the Motor Base (16) carefully 5.
forward as far as possible.
When nished cutting, move the 6.
Motor Base (16) backward, and turn
the Dowel Jointer off.
To Join The Workpieces:
When the holes in the workpieces 1.
have been made, the workpieces can
be joined together.
Place wood glue in both grooves of 2.
the workpieces.
Place a dowel pin in the hole of one 3.
workpiece.
Insert the other workpiece onto the 4.
dowel pin.
Clamp the workpieces together. 5.
Then wait until the glue is dry. (Read
glue manufacturer’s instruction.)
