move to the top of the list. You
may not have to type the entire
Confusable in order to nd the
one you want. In this example,
note that “insure” appears on the
screen after you type “in”.
5. When the Confusable you want
is on the screen, press until it
is highlighted.
6. Press ENTER to look it up.
7. Use the navigation button to
read the entire entry.
Press to hear the word.
Note: Confusables are displayed
at the end of the thesaurus entry
of the word you looked up.
8. Press CLEAR when done.
Using the Idiom Search
Screen
Finding Idioms in the Oxford
Thesaurus of English is a little bit
different than in the Oxford Advanced
Learner’s Dictionary. Instead of
typing a word and searching for all
idioms that contain that word, you
are presented with a word list as you
type a word.
1. From the word search screen,
press .
The idiom entry screen is
displayed. Press to return
to the word entry screen.
2. Type a word, for example hard.
