Using Data Dump Mode
4. To turn off the data dump mode and stop printing, press ON
LINE to set the printer off line. (If you press ON LINE while a
page is being printed, the green ON LINE light flashes until the
page is ejected and the printer goes off line.) To exit the data
dump mode, turn off the printer or hold down the RESET
button until INITIALIZE appears on the display.
Look at the sample data dump printout shown in Step 3. By
reading the characters printed in the text field on the right side of
the data dump printout or the printout of hexadecimal codes, you
can check what codes are being sent to the printer. In the text
field, printable characters appear as their true ASCII characters.
Non-printable codes, such as control codes, are represented by
dots.
For example, look at the first two hexadecimal codes on line 0004
of the printout sample (73 20). Code 73 represents the letter s;
code 20 represents a space. Check the fifth line of the text field on
the right side of the printout and you will find the letter s
followed by a space.
