•Followallinstructions.
•Donotusethisapparatusnearwater. Never
immerse the apparatus in liquid or allow a liquid
to ow inside the apparatus. Water entering an
apparatus will increase the risk for electric shock.
•Cleanonlywithdrycloth.Certain cleaning
agents and solvents are harmful to plastics and
other insulated parts. Some of these include:
gasoline, turpentine, lacquer thinner, paint thin-
ner, chlorinated cleaning solvents, ammonia and
household detergents containing ammonia. Clean
dust and debris from vents. Keep the apparatus
handle clean, dry and free of oil or grease.
•Donotblockanyventilationopenings. Install in
accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
•Donotinstallnearanyheatsources such as
radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other appa-
ratus (including ampliers) that produce heat.
•Protectthepowercordfrombeingwalkedon
orpinched particularly at plugs, convenience
receptacles, and the point where they exit from
the apparatus. Do not abuse the cord. Never use
the cord to carry the radio or pull the plug from
an outlet. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp
edges or moving parts. Replace damaged cords
immediately. Damaged cords increase the risk of
electric shock and may create a re.
•Useonlyattachments/accessoriesspecied
bythemanufacturer.
•Unplugthisapparatusduringlightningstorms
orwhenunusedforlongperiods.Remove

damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord
or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or ob-
jects have fallen into the radio, the radio has been
exposed to rain or moisture or does not operate
normally. Service or maintenance performed by
unqualied personnel could result in a risk of injury.
•Abatteryoperatedradiowithintegralbatteries
oraseparatebatterypackmustberecharged
onlywiththespeciedchargerforthebattery.
A charger that may be suitable for one type of
battery may create a risk of re when used with
another battery.
•Usebatteryoperatedradioonlywithspeci-
callydesignatedbatterypacks. Use of any other
batteries may create a risk of re.
•Whenbatterypackisnotinuse,keepitaway

together may cause sparks, burns, or a re.
•Avoidbodycontactwithgroundedsurfaces
suchaspipes,radiators,rangesandrefrigera-
tors. There is an increased risk of electric shock
if your body is grounded.
•Donotuseanyadaptorplugs.
•Whenoperatingaradiooutside,useanout-
doorextensioncordmarked“W-A”or“W”.
These cords are rated for outdoor use and reduce
the risk of electric shock.
