About iTunes
iTunes is the software application you use to manage the music on your computer and
transfer music to iPod. When you connect iPod to your computer, iTunes opens
automatically.
Here are some of the things you can do with iTunes:
• Purchase and download songs and audiobooks from the iTunes Music Store
• Listen to CDs and digital music
• Add music from CDs to your music library, so you don’t need to have the CD
in the drive to play music
• Make your own CDs (if your computer has a CD burner)
• Publish your playlists to the iTunes Music Store
• Create dynamic “Party Shuffle” playlists
• Listen to Internet radio stations
This guide explains how to transfer songs to iPod using iTunes and manage songs
on iPod. For information about using the other features of iTunes, open iTunes and
choose Help > iTunes and Music Store Help.
