Connecting the Slingbox to a wireless network
The Slingbox cannot wirelessly connect to your home network by itself. However, you can connect the
Slingbox to an existing wireless network using an Ethernet-to-wireless bridge (or a wireless game
adapter) and use your wireless laptop around the house. You must have a wireless home network for
this setup.
1. Set up your bridge to work with your existing wireless home network before you connect the
Slingbox to your bridge. (It is recommended that you test the bridge where you plan to use the
Slingbox. Wireless networks vary in signal strength from location to location.)
2. Connect an Ethernet cable to the Network connector on the Slingbox and to an Ethernet jack on
your wireless bridge.
Make sure to follow the installation instructions that come with the equipment that you purchase.
Important: If your router requires MAC address authentication, you may need to add the Slingbox’s MAC address to your router administration screens.
The MAC address is printed on the bottom of the Slingbox.
