Recording
Following recording, DVD discs must be closed to
further recording by using the EDIT section = [DVD
Disc] = [Finalize] command. Discs which have been
recorded but not finalized cannot be removed.
During recording, if an attempt is made to use the
EJECT button to remove an disc that hasn’t been
finalized, or to change the drive selection from DVD,
a dialog will appear instructing the user to either
finalize the disc or cancel. If cancel is selected, the
display will return to the Function Menu.

Note:
If the command is input to move to the standby
condition during recording to a DVD disc, or
following recording when finalization is not
performed:
1 DVD-R disc: Cannot be recorded further.
2 DVD-RW disc: Caution is required, since the disc
can still be used if initialized. Since projects are
preserved on hard disk drive, it is possible to use
the EDIT section = [DVD Disc] = [Make a disc]
command to rerecord the disc.
Recording from HDD to DVD
Following recording of a video program to the hard
disk drive, editing of the DVD menu and title can be
performed before final recording to DVD disc. To
record in this way, use the EDIT section = [DVD
Disc] = [Make a Disc] command. The destination
drive for final recording can be selected by using the
EDIT section = [DVD Disc] = [Make a Disc] =
[Target] command, and specified as either “DVD1”,
“DVD2”, or “DVD1&2”.
Note:
The total post-editing program size must be within
the capacity of the DVD disc or recording will not be
possible.
