Handling and care of CD´s
Handling of audio cassette tapes
1. Loose tape bands can cause problems. Use a pencil to carefully tighten the tape band (see fig. 1).
2. To avoid unintentional deleting of a tape, please quarry out the recording interlock (see fig. 2). If you want
to record the tape later on, put adhesive tape on the gap (see fig. 3).
3. Storing cassette tapes:
Do not store cassette tapes in direct sunlight or near radiating devices. Keep cassette tapes away from
magnets.
4. 120-minutes-tapes:
120-minutes-tapes have a very thin tape band that can easily tear or be damaged.
5. Infinite cassette tapes:
Please do not use infinite cassette tapes; these can damage the unit.
6. Cleaning the sound head:
Always keep the sound head, drive mechanism and pin rollers clean to
guarantee best operation of the unit.
Clean those components as follows:
1. Open the cassette deck.
2. Immerse a Q-tip in some cleaning alcohol and carefully clean sound
head, drive mechanism and pin rollers.
• Only hold CD´s on their edges to protect the surface from finger prints. Finger prints, dirt
and scratches can cause skipping and distortion.
• Do not write on the printed CD side using a ball pen or any other pen.
• Do not use benzene, thinner or liquids against electrostatic charge.
• Do not drop or bend CD´s.
• Only insert one CD into the CD drive.
• Do not close the CD drive when the CD is not correctly inserted.
Cleaning CD´s
• Clean CD´s with a soft cloth.
• Clean CD´s from center to edges.
Storage
Store CD´s in their cover after playback.
