NOTE: The groomer reel drive is located on the oppo-
site side of the cutting unitfrom the cutting reel hydraulic
motor. Figure 4 shows components used when the
groomer reel drive is on the left side of the cutting unit.
Note: Early productiongroomer shaftsanddriven pul-
leys were equipped with a square key. Later production
components are shown in Figure 4.
Removal (Fig. 4)
1. Park machine on a clean and level surface, lower
cutting units completely to the ground, stop engine, en-
gage parking brake and remove key from the ignition
switch.
NOTE: Ifcuttingunit is equipped with powered rear roll-
er brush, removal of roller brush components will be
necessary to service groomer plate assemblies (see
Roller Brush (Optional) in the Service and Repairs sec-
tion of Chapter 7.2 -- DPA Cutting Units).
2. To remove groomer plate assembly from groomer
drive side of cutting unit:
A. Remove groomer belt cover and groomer drive
belt from groomer drive (see Groomer Belt Replace-
ment in this section).
NOTE: To prevent cutting reel from turningwhen re-
moving drive pulley, block reel with piece of wood.
