Rating Songs
You can assign ratings of 1 to 5 stars ( ) to songs and then search for songs by
their star ratings (
page 21).
There are 2 types of ratings: ratings that you assign to songs manually and
ratings assigned automatically by SonicStage.

To rate a song manually
1 Display the Now Playing screen of the song to which you want to assign
ratings.
2 Press the OPTION/PWR OFF button.
The option menu appears.
3 Press the /// button to select “ Rating,” and then press the
button to confirm.
The setup screen appears.
4 Press the / button to select Rating ( ), and the press the button
to confirm.
5 Press the / button to select “Close,” and then press the button to
confirm.
The Now Playing screen reappears.
Hint
Pressing the
/
button enables you to find the beginning of the next or previous song,
and you can assign ratings continuously.
Notes
When you apply ratings to songs, the ratings are not available for searching until the
next time you connect the player to SonicStage.
If you transfer a song which has not yet been rated on “ Rating” using SonicStage, the
rating of the song is displayed as “ ” (manual rating) on the player.
The “ Rating” status of a song cannot be restored to the status it had before the song
was rated on the player.
