canskipthisstepifyouhaveseparateincomingnumbersforvoiceandfax.
Thefaxpre‐answerserviceperformsadatabase‘fetchdata’thatmatchestheoriginalcallednumber(representedas
Caller‐IDNumber)toanassociatedextension.Ifthereisnothingmatchingthecallednumberinthedatabaseortheservice
isnotabletoaccesstheODBCDatabase,theservicewilltransferthecalltotheoperator.The“Ringing(2rings).wav”
audiofileisavailableaspartofthisintegrationnote.

“C:\ProgramFiles\Objectworld\UCServer\Data\Users\00000000\Announcements\Shared”directoryontheUC
Serverplatform.
2. FromtheAdministrationServicesNavigationpane,navigatetotheSharedservicesfolder.
3. Right‐clickandselectNew>Service
4. NametheservicePre‐answer
5. Double‐clickonthenewlycreatedservicetoopentheServiceEditor
6. Createtheserviceasdefinedinthepictureabove.

Thepre‐answerservicewillbeconfiguredforeachuser.Eachuserthatrequiresasinglenumberforbothvoiceandfaxwill
require‘PersonalBusinessAssistant’asthecallansweringmode.
Toverifythattheuserisconfiguredfor‘PersonalBusinessAssistant’callansweringmode
1. FromtheAdministrationNavigationpane,selectUsers.
2. Double‐clicktheuserthatyouwanttoassociatethepre‐answerserviceinthecontentpane.
3. SelecttheGeneraltab,andverifythattheCallAnsweringmodefortheuserisconfiguredasPersonalBusiness
